Monthly Car Rental in Dubai: What It Really Costs in 2026

Real monthly car rental prices in Dubai, from AED 1,700 all-in. What's included, what costs extra, and how deposits, Salik and mileage actually work.

monthly car rental dubai cost

Search for monthly car rental dubai cost in Dubai and you will find two things: "from AED 999" headlines that quietly exclude insurance, and quote forms that will not show a number until you hand over your phone number. Neither helps you budget.

This guide does it differently. The prices below are our actual rates, published on our live fleet, for cars we own and rent every day. We are an RTA-authorized rental dealer and agency based in Port Saeed, Dubai, and our whole pitch is transparency - so here is the real maths of renting a car monthly in Dubai in 2026.

The short answer

A proper monthly rental in Dubai - insurance, registration and maintenance included - starts at around AED 1,700 per month for a compact sedan and around AED 1,850 for a compact SUV. Well-equipped family SUVs sit between AED 2,300 and 2,900. If a deal is dramatically cheaper than that, read the fine print: something (usually insurance, mileage or VAT) has been taken out of the headline price.

Real monthly prices, from our fleet

These are live renewal rates from our own cars at the time of writing, VAT inclusive:

Prices move with availability and season, so treat this list as a snapshot - the monthly rental page always shows the current rate for every car.

What's included in a monthly price

At Urban Go (and at any reputable operator), a monthly rate should include:

  • Comprehensive insurance - included on every plan

  • Registration and licensing - the car stays road-legal on us

  • Routine maintenance and servicing - wear items and scheduled services are our problem, not yours

  • 24/7 roadside assistance

  • 4,000 km of driving per month - generous for Dubai; most daily commutes use 1,500 to 2,500 km

One more thing worth asking any rental company: what happens on service days? With us, when your car goes in for scheduled maintenance, we can usually arrange a swap car so you keep moving - subject to availability, and one of the practical advantages of renting from an operator with its own fleet.

What costs extra (the honest list)

This is the part most price pages skip. Budget for these on top of the monthly rate:

  • Fuel. Yours. Petrol in the UAE is cheap by global standards, but it is not included.

  • Salik (toll gates). Dubai's road tolls are billed per gate crossing. We recharge Salik at cost plus AED 1 per pass as a processing fee - you will see every crossing itemized, and we would rather tell you about the AED 1 than pretend tolls are free.

  • Traffic fines. Any fines you incur are passed through to you, plus the knowledge fee the authorities charge.

  • Extra kilometers. Only if you exceed your included 4,000 km/month; the per-km rate is listed on each car's page before you book.

  • Optional add-ons. Child seats, additional drivers, upgraded insurance excess cover - all priced upfront in the quote calculator on every vehicle page.

The deposit question

Our standard security deposit is AED 1,500 for most cars (AED 2,000 on luxury models), held and returned after the rental once fines have cleared.

If you would rather not lock up cash, we offer a zero-deposit option as a paid add-on - a small premium instead of the refundable hold. It is a choice, not the default, and the standard deposit route is usually cheaper if you can spare the float. You can see how it prices on any car via the quote calculator.

How to pay less per month

  1. Commit longer. Rates drop meaningfully with duration. The Nissan Kicks 2025 is AED 2,300 on a rolling month, but AED 12,420 on a 6-month plan - that is AED 2,070 a month, about 10% off, and the same car. Compare tiers on the long-term rental page.

  2. Pick the value seats. A Chinese or Korean compact (MG, Chevrolet Groove, Kicks) does Dubai duty just as well as a German badge for roughly half the money. Our cheap car rental page lists the value end of the fleet.

  3. Rent monthly instead of daily. Daily rates on our fleet start around AED 100 to 150 per day - that is AED 3,000 to 4,500 over a month. The equivalent monthly plan is 25% to 45% cheaper. If you are staying more than three weeks, monthly wins. For shorter stays, see weekly rental.

Monthly rental vs owning a car in Dubai

Rough maths for a AED 90,000 SUV: a car loan runs AED 1,700 or more per month before you add insurance (roughly AED 3,000 to 4,500 a year), registration, servicing, and depreciation - typically 15 to 20% in year one. A monthly rental at AED 2,500 with all of that included is competitive on cost and far more flexible: no resale, no bank, and you can change cars as your needs change. The full comparison is on our monthly rental page.

What you need to rent

  • UAE residents: Emirates ID and a UAE driving license

  • Visitors: passport, entry stamp or visa, home-country license and, for many nationalities, an International Driving Permit - check yours in 30 seconds with our driving license checker

Delivery to your door is available - we are based in Port Saeed and cover Downtown Dubai and the nearby districts on most bookings; tell us where you are on WhatsApp and we will confirm.

FAQ

From about AED 1,700 per month for a compact sedan with insurance, registration, maintenance and 4,000 km included, rising to AED 2,300 to 2,900 for family SUVs. VAT is included in our published prices.
Are there hidden fees in monthly car rentals?
There should not be. With us the extras are fuel, Salik (at cost plus AED 1 per pass), traffic fines if you incur them, and optional add-ons you choose. Everything is itemized before you book.
Is a deposit required for monthly rental?

Can I extend or change my car mid-rental?
Extensions are a WhatsApp message away. Car changes can usually be arranged, subject to availability - ask us and we will do our best.
