Do I need a car on Palm Jumeirah?

In most cases, yes. The Palm has one road on and off the trunk, and the fronds are dead-end streets.

The monorail stops early in the evening and does not reach the fronds. If you stay at the tip or on a frond, a car is the easiest way to leave the island.

Which car should I choose?

• Family stays at Atlantis, One&Only, Waldorf, Fairmont or Kempinski: choose a mid-size or full-size SUV so everyone fits in one trip.
• Couples or solo trips at Th8, Anantara East or W Residences: a sedan is enough.
• Six or seven people with luggage: choose a Patrol, Yukon, Sorento or Tahoe.

How bad is traffic on the Palm trunk?

Traffic is fine outside peak hours. It gets slow between 8am and 10am, and again between 6pm and 8pm, mostly near the Palm Gateway.

If your plans are flexible, leave an hour earlier or later. The tunnel to Atlantis is quick in both directions.

Parking and tolls

The Nakheel Mall car park under the trunk is free for a few hours with mall validation. You cross Salik gates when you drive back to the mainland on Sheikh Zayed Road. Tolls are not included. We add them to your final statement at cost, plus a small handling fee for each crossing.

How does handover work?

Message us the hotel or building name and your arrival time on WhatsApp. We bring the car to your lobby or driveway with the paperwork ready. We walk around the car with you, hand over the keys and leave in our own vehicle.

On monthly plans we collect the car for its scheduled service. In most cases we bring a comparable car for the day.
