Rental Agreement Terms

These Rental Agreement Terms ("Terms") set out the general conditions that apply to every rental of a vehicle from Urban Go Car Rentals L.L.C. ("Urban Go", "we", "us", "our"). They apply in addition to, and form part of, the individual Rental Agreement signed by the Renter at vehicle handover.

All financial figures — including daily rate, security deposit, insurance excess, mileage allowance, fuel policy, late-return charge, administrative fees and refund timeframes — are vehicle-specific and are set out in the individual Rental Agreement for each hire. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the individual Rental Agreement, the individual Rental Agreement prevails.

The Renter and any additional driver must, at the time of handover:

• Hold a valid driving licence accepted for driving in the United Arab Emirates;
• Present a valid passport (with UAE entry stamp or visa where applicable) or Emirates ID;
• Meet the minimum age, licence tenure and any additional eligibility requirements as specified in the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented;
• Provide a valid credit card in the Renter's name for the security deposit pre-authorization.

Only drivers named on the Rental Agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle.

At handover, the Renter and Urban Go will jointly inspect the vehicle and complete a condition report noting existing damage, fuel level, mileage and included accessories. By signing the Rental Agreement, the Renter confirms the vehicle is received in the condition described and fit for the intended use. Any dispute regarding pre-existing damage must be raised before the Renter leaves with the vehicle.

The rental period begins at the handover time recorded in the Rental Agreement and ends at the agreed return time. Any extension must be requested in writing and confirmed by Urban Go before the return time; extensions are subject to vehicle availability.

Late return without prior written approval is a breach of these Terms and is charged at the late-return rate as specified in the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented. Urban Go reserves the right to recover the vehicle without further notice if it is not returned by the agreed time.

The fuel policy (including fuel level at handover and return, and any refuelling charge) and the daily or monthly mileage allowance (including any excess-kilometre charge) are as specified in the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented. The Renter is responsible for the actual fuel used during the rental.

The vehicle must not be:

• Driven by any person not named as an authorized driver on the Rental Agreement;
• Driven off paved public roads, in the desert, on beaches or in any off-road environment;
• Used for racing, motorsport, timing trials, driving tuition or performance testing;
• Used for ride-hailing, taxi services, courier work or any commercial transport for hire;
• Sublet, re-rented, sold, pledged or otherwise transferred to any third party;
• Used to transport goods or persons in breach of UAE law;
• Used to tow or push any vehicle, trailer or object;
• Operated by any person under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or any impairing substance;
• Driven outside the United Arab Emirates without Urban Go's prior written approval and appropriate additional documentation;
• Smoked in, or used to transport pets, without prior written approval.

Any breach of this clause voids all insurance cover, exposes the Renter to full liability for any loss or damage, and entitles Urban Go to terminate the rental immediately and recover the vehicle.

The Renter is responsible for all Salik (road toll) charges, parking fees, traffic contraventions and any other fines or penalties incurred during the rental period, whether notified to Urban Go before or after the vehicle is returned. Urban Go will charge the actual amount incurred plus an administrative fee per event as specified in the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented. The Renter authorizes Urban Go to charge the credit card on file for such amounts as and when they are posted by the relevant authority.

Each vehicle is covered by a motor insurance policy the scope and exclusions of which vary by vehicle class. The insurance excess (the amount payable by the Renter in the event of an at-fault or non-fault incident where the third party cannot be identified) is vehicle-specific and is set out expressly in the individual Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented.

Insurance cover does not apply, and the Renter is fully liable for all loss and damage, where:

• The vehicle is used in breach of the Prohibited Use clause;
• No police report is obtained for an incident (see below);
• The Renter is under the influence of alcohol or any impairing substance;
• The driver at the time of the incident is not an authorized driver;
• The incident results from wilful, reckless or grossly negligent conduct;
• The vehicle is driven outside the UAE without prior written approval;
• Damage is caused to tyres, rims, undercarriage or the interior other than through fair wear and tear.

In the event of any accident, damage, theft or breakdown, the Renter must:

1. Stop immediately, ensure the safety of persons and secure the vehicle;
2. Call the Police (999) and obtain an official police report — a police report is mandatory for any insurance claim;
3. Notify Urban Go without delay on the emergency contact number provided at handover;
4. Not admit liability or make any settlement with third parties without Urban Go's written consent;
5. Cooperate fully with Urban Go and the insurer in the investigation of the incident.

Failure to obtain a police report, or failure to notify Urban Go promptly, will result in the Renter being held fully liable for all resulting loss and damage regardless of fault.

A security deposit is taken by pre-authorization on the Renter's credit card at handover. The deposit amount and the release timeframe following return of the vehicle are as specified in the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented. Release of the deposit is subject to (a) return of the vehicle in the same condition (fair wear and tear excepted), (b) the posting of any Salik, parking, toll or traffic fine incurred during the rental, and (c) settlement of any outstanding amounts payable under the Rental Agreement. Urban Go is entitled to deduct any such amounts from the deposit before release.

Cancellation, no-show and early-termination terms — including any applicable charges or refunds — are set out in the booking confirmation and the applicable Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented. Urban Go may terminate the rental with immediate effect and recover the vehicle where the Renter breaches these Terms or the Rental Agreement, or where required by law.

Urban Go reserves the right to repossess the vehicle at any time, without notice and at the Renter's cost, if the vehicle is used in breach of these Terms or the Rental Agreement, if the Renter fails to pay any amount when due, if the vehicle is abandoned, or if Urban Go reasonably believes the vehicle is at risk of damage, seizure or loss.

Urban Go accepts no responsibility for any personal belongings, valuables or items left in or on the vehicle before, during or after the rental. The Renter is solely responsible for their belongings.

These Terms and the Rental Agreement are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applicable in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Rental Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Dubai.

By signing the Rental Agreement, the Renter confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms together with the specific commercial terms set out in the Rental Agreement for the vehicle rented.
